The remote worker is a lot more common these days, and with this kind of working life comes the need to find suitable places to get the job done while on the move. Coffee shops, bars, and co-working spaces are ideal, but it’s not always easy to know where the best ones are and what exactly they offer. That’s what Workfrom has set out to address, and the Workfrom Places API makes this available to developers who want to build applications with this functionality.
Workfrom is a community tool that helps remote workers to find the most reliable places that provide the right environment for getting work done while away from home or the office. It’s a collaboration of both working people and places providing the workspaces, and it provides instant insight into what’s available in a specific location. Users are able to search specific neighborhoods and receive listings and maps showing the most work-friendly places that provide WiFi, power outlets, and other relevant amenities. Users can also take advantage of the tips and reviews from other users to help choose the right space for them.
The Workfrom Places API makes it possible to search for places by location, zipcode, or by Workfrom ID. By using an Application ID, developers can also get information like WiFi speeds and passwords for matching places. In addition, the API provides information on things like photos of the spaces, seating layouts, background noise information, types of tea, coffee and food available, and so on. The API is currently in beta, and is open to a limited number of developers. Those who are interested are invited to contact the folks at Workfrom via email at api@workfrom.co. Further information is available on the website.
